ABOUT ME
I create paintings that begin in the woods or a garden. I work with silk because it glows. What I curate lives at the intersection of memory, craftsmanship and devotion.
Raised among the quiet woods of Minnesota and shaped by the wide skies of Montana and the stillness of the Arizona desert, Christy creates silk paintings that begin in the land itself. Her early love of flowers took root in her grandmother’s garden, where the two would choose and plant blooms together—an intimate ritual of color, scent, and shared wonder. Learning each flower by name and watching them flourish under her grandmother’s care left a lasting imprint; those moments of tending and creating beauty together continue to guide her floral work, honoring both memory and lineage.
Each piece she creates now begins on a walk, taking in the landscape and gathering leaves and impressions that become direct imprints on silk—marks of memory, presence, and place. From these earth-made beginnings, animals emerge as witnesses rather than illustrations, guided by intuition, ritual, and a deep reverence for the natural world.
Honored as a Master Silk Painter by Silk Painters International and exhibited across North America, Europe, and the Middle East, her award-winning work is known for its luminous surfaces, quiet strength, and the sense of peace it brings to the spaces it inhabits. Collectors often describe her paintings as portals—companions for transition, grounding, and healing. Working at the intersection of devotion, biophilic practice, and meticulous craft, she creates art for people who want their homes to hold not just beauty, but truth.
