January 25 - Silk Painting - 9am-4pm

Learn the basics and different techniques of the beautiful art of silk painting. 

You will:

• Design your painting from an idea you have, or you may use a pattern from my collection.

• Learn how to stretch your silk on a frame.

• Paint with silk paints, learning to blend and use a variety of techniques, becoming immersed in the process.

• Complete a painting ready to mount at the end of class and heat set it so the paints are permanent in the silk.

• Love the flow and movement of the paints on silk and especially love the vibrant colors you can create.

February 15 - Abstract  Painting with Wax on Silk - 10am -2pm

Have fun creating shapes, color and movement on a silk scarf or silk piece as a painting.

You will:

• Learn to blend silk paints or dyes to create beautiful color combinations.

• Apply wax as a resist and to complement areas of interest, resulting in a 3d effect in places.

• Heat set your work, so it is permanent in the silk and can be washed.

• Love the flow and movement on silk and especially the vibrant colors you can create.

       If you have more time, create another piece!
